Meet Amber
Mental Health Occupational Therapist
Amber is an experienced Occupational Therapist and Mental Health Clinician with eight years of experience in acute and community mental health. She has worked extensively with adults and older people, as well as their families and carers, supporting those living with complex mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, psychosocial disability, dementia with behavioural and psychological symptoms, intellectual disability, and complex trauma. She also feels privileged that she has had the opportunity of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and refugee populations.
Amber brings a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to her work and has particular interests in psychosocial disability, early-onset dementia, and supporting families and carers. She enjoy helping people navigate the NDIS through Functional Capacity Assessments and similar reports, ensuring their needs and goals are clearly represented. She also has an emerging interest in ADHD, autism, and somatic therapies, and uses sensory modulation and environmental strategies to support recovery.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find her camping, cooking, travelling, or on adventures with her kids. She loves good food, good humour, and nerdy TV chats with friends — but you won’t catch me near cantaloupe (ever!).
What’s most important to Amber is advocating for clients, families, and carers so they can achieve their goals and live fair and equitable lives without barriers.
